Can it be fixed?

Not sure what you should bring to the spring 2017 Repair Café on March 18? Check the list below.

Please remember that repair work is not guaranteed. Our fixers are all volunteers, and most of them are not professional repair persons – they’re just really awesome folks who like to help out!

Bring it

We can fix small household appliances, clean clothing and textiles, bicycles, jewelry, toys, small furniture, dishes, and other household items.

Heads up!! Instead of fixing bikes at IX this time around, our friends from Charlottesville Community Bikes will help out with bicycle repairs at their shop, just a few blocks away. The shop will be open from 2pm to 5pm on March 18. Please take your bike to 405 Avon St. – and let them know we sent you.

Below is a list of items we’ve fixed in the past…

We’ll try

We don’t currently have expert fixers on board for these items, but we’re happy to take a look if you think it might just need some glue or a minor tune-up.

clocks & watches sewing machines
musical instruments shoes
sports equipment

Do NOT bring

Due to the risks involved in servicing these items, our volunteers do not evaluate or repair microwave ovens, televisions, or gasoline powered equipment.
